Week 3 Progress Report

This week has been exciting! Vacation started, and half the weeks workouts were done in scorching heat in Rome. Also, there is more actual running in my program now, and some signs of progress.
This weeks training
With only 9 weeks left it is good to see some marginal progress, and to have more sessions resembling something an actual runner would do. Gone are the 3 min run/3min walks, replaced by 4 min run/1min walks. The week ended on a high note with a 20 min consecutive run.
For the 20 min consecutive run the instructions were to run at a slow pace that I could maintain throughout the 20 minutes. My average pace ended at 5:55. So only a full minute slower than what is required on race day, and of course 20 minutes as opposed to 50. So while a stark reminder of the remaining work it also felt pretty good.
Been able to squeeze in some strength days as well, but not tracking those.

Weight and diet
As expected my diet has been fairly suboptimal in Rome. I have mitigated that by not bringing a scale, so until I actually measure I haven't gained any weight right?

The only mitigating factor is that we have walked 20k+ steps every single day while in Rome. Hopefully that helps to some degree..
Future updates
Weekly updates will uploaded on Mondays from next week and out!
