Malady strikes! Week 7 update

Disaster strikes as malady infests camp Sjarmanger. As I mentioned in last weeks update I had the beginnings of a cold, and it has gotten a lot worse. After discussions with my coach and chatGPT I have had to cancel several sessions this last week - an absolute disaster.

On the bright side
In the start of the week the cold wasn't so bad, and after an interesting discussion with ChatGPT i had the green light to do my sessions:

With the above blessing I was able to do the start of the week as planned, with a hard tempo/interval session, and two easy 30 minute runs. In the Norwegian climate I can now run a 5k at 5:40 pace within Zone 2 (OLT) which is a pretty big improvement.
Also in the tempo session I was able to maintain race pace (12kmh/5:00km) for two laps of 10 minutes. Obviously I need to do it for a full 50 minutes without pause, but it is still something. The fastest 1k was 04:47 which unlocks the "I am speed" achievement!

Stats
Big milestone with a sub 25 min 5k prediction from Garmin!
Weight | 89,7 (-0,2 kg) |
VO2 Max(Garmin) | 45 (-) |
Lactate threshold(Garmin) | 5:21 /km (-) |
5k Prediction(Garmin) | 24:40 (-46 sec) |
5k PB | 26:47 |
10k PB | 1:02:26 |
Now what?
I am hoping I will be 80-90% tomorrow so I can start light work again. Losing towards a full week at this time is critical. I was really careful in Italy and Spain to not overdo it with Air condition, big doses of vitamins etc - only to get sick as soon as I returned to Norway. Doh.
This week I will further improve on my stellar business case, by buying race shoes "super shoes", and start experimenting with gels, caffeine, beet extract and bi-carbonate. Can't wait to shit myself midrun!
