First real session, an epic fail

On Friday this week I had the first session that looked like something an actual runner would do:
20 min warmup
3 min hard run, 3 min rest/walk x4 (RPE 9-10)
16 min cooldown
This did not go well.

One might think my so called coach offered some target pace or something, but alas. And apparently pacing is not my forte. At 9-10 RPE my thoughts were I needed to run fast to get my pulse up, so I aimed to keep a pace of 3:40 for 3 minutes. Ended at 04:06, and completely shattered. The second lap was way slower, and the third one I had to start walking halfway. At some point I was worried about a heat stroke, but I guess that is just the weak quitter in me getting too comfortable. The session was a complete disaster!
This is the first time so far in this project I have been unable to complete my session as planned, and motivations are not high.
Anyways, this project doesn't allow time for feeling sorry for myself, so I will just watch the the lovely meme below on repeat and try again!
